Accidents do happen. When moving or copying files on your android
phone you may end up clicking the delete button or you may have deleted a
video few days back and now you feel guilty doing it. Don’t lose hope
there is still a chance that you may get to recover the deleted file
from your phone. The good thing is that this method doesn’t require root
access bad part is that it may not always work. In this tutorial I am
going to show you how you can get back your deleted file from your
external or internal micro SD card.
How does it work!
Micro SD cards works the same way as Magnetic hard drive (Not to be confused with Solid State Drive).If you delete a file from your micro SD card the file doesn’t get deleted immediately only the pointer gets removed. The file stays in the card until it is overwritten by another fileFew Things you are going to need:
1. A computer running on windows platform.
2. A U.S.B cord for your android phone.
3. Recuva software (click here to download).
4. A cup of tea. (Patience!)
Let’s Begin:
1. Download and Install Recuva on your computer
Firstly I will delete a video (Taekwondo KO best) from my phone’s internal memory Just to be more illustrative.
2. Then connect your phone with your computer using a USB cord. Use your phone as a mass storage.
3. Open Recuva and select the type of file you want to restore. If you have deleted a .mp3 file select music. If you have deleted an apk file then select Other option (I have deleted .mp4 file which is a video format, therefore I will select the video option). Click on next
4. You will be asked for a specific location. Select your drive (My internal memory is named as Removable Disk H). The name can differ. If you aren’t sure of the drive select both the drive. Click on next
5. Tick the enable Deep scan option and click start.
6. Most likely you will see many files. Tick the file you want to recover and click on recover. Select the output folder. Ta da you have just recovered your deleted file to view the file open the output folder.
